The Cabinet

Journalists Dovydas Pancerovas and Birutė Davidonytė open the door to their office of research department in the premises of the news portal "15min" in 2019-2020. This is where the highly acclaimed book "Kabinetas 339" was born and where the beginnings of the first book "Pranešėjas ir Prezidentas" developed. The profession of investigative journalism stirs the imagination, and the viewer may get the impression that a journalist's day is full of action and suspense. But the reality is far more prosaic: hundreds of emails, calls, and the occasional little inclusions of personal life that spice up office life. The film subtly raises questions about the nature of a journalist's work, the duty and responsibility to speak out, and the ever-present state of insecurity that plagues us, as the line between truth and lies becomes increasingly blurred.
