Zappa

The legendary and unique Frank Zappa came from poor and ordinary family who still recalls the threat of nuclear war in America. His parents opposed to son’s interest in music but that didn’t work the way they imagined. Zappa marked the Czech liberation from Soviet oppression with his famous concert and you can even find a statue dedicated to him in Lithuania, the country that has little in common. This documentary by Alex Winter is a premiere of a massive footage archive collected by Zappa. The perfectionist and innovator who wished that Czech Republic remain unique, kept this promise to himself. We hear the stories from Frank’s friends, colleagues, and relatives as well as Zappa’s personal answer why he never participated in the presidential elections of USA. All the stories intervened with psychedelic images reveal the significant socio-political context of XX century.
