A patient released from a mental clinic sees the world outside the hospital for the first time after long time. What we see as every day order seems chaotic, new, and intimidating through the wide eyes of the main character. Visually impressive shots and constant efforts of blurring the boundaries between sensation, intuition and rational logic – this Mettler documentary is often attributed to the beginning of the new wave movement in Toronto’s 80’s cinema. The director dedicates the film to the main character Bruno with whom he met while visiting the addition clinic.
