VDFF guest: Vilnius International Film Festival  

 Diego Maradona, one of the best football players of the 20th-century, started playing for Napoli in 1984, winning the Italian Championship twice. On the pitch, Maradona was a genius. Off the pitch, he was treated like a God. But his life had its dark side too, as the city of temptations and danger and the impulsive temper of Argentinian perfectly matched each other. The story of fame and its price is constructed from over 500 hours of never-before-seen footage from Maradona’s personal archive.

 Asif Kapadia

British filmmaker, graduated from Royal Academy of Arts with a degree in film directing. Asif Kapadia specializes in documentaries mainly using archival footage, his film Senna based on motor racer Ayrton Senna and won BAFTA awards in Best Documentary and Best Editing categories. Documentary about Singer’s Amy Winehouse life Amy was awarded an Academy Award for Best Documentary. The newly released film Diego Maradona is the third part of a trilogy about child geniuses and fame.
