The World is Mine

In cosplay of the Japanese cyber diva Hatsune Miku, the director moves to Tokyo and enters the Miku fan world. Hatsune Miku is a Vocaloid, a synthesizer software personified by a cute animated character. Fans bring her to life by creating content that she delivers. The director’s journey explores identity through cosplay and the phenomen around Miku as the epitome of collective fantasy. By transforming herself into a Miku character through cosplay, Oren enters a world of real hardcore fans where fantasy is more real than reality and the differentiation between the two becomes obsolete.
