Shut Up and Play the Piano

Chilly Gonzales is a Grammy-winning Canadian pianist, producer and entertainer currently living in Cologne, Germany. He is known as much for the intimate piano touch of his albums solo Piano I and solo Piano II as for his showmanship and composition for award-winning musicians such as Jarvis Cocker, Feist, Jane Birkin, Daft Punk and Drake. He holds the Guinness world record for the longest solo concert at over 27 hours. Chilly Gonzales devoted himself to finding a modern take on chamber music. The film explores how his energy and wild spirit take over the musical scene in Berlin.

Philipp Jadicke lives in France and Canada, works as a freelance director in Cologne, Germany. He creates video films for the websites and TV programs such as ARTE, WDR, “Süddeutsche  Zeitung”. This film is his debut as a film director.
