Eugenic Minds

When human beings began learning more about their origins and started to renounce God, scientists came up with a new term: eugenics. This discipline was meant to explore methods of achieving the best possible human gene pool. Devotees believed that eugenics could save mankind and improve the world, but it was the Nazis that brought it to a horrific perfection. The pseudoscientific methods served their ultimate goal: the Final Solution. Director Pavel Štingl has combined unique archival materials and animated passages, with literary commentary by writer Patric Ourednik, to create an intriguing essay that reflects on history and the thin line that separates legitimate science from its misuses.
