Journey to the Maggot Feeder is an attempt to solve the mystery of a bizarre Arctic fairy tale. Priit Tender, an Estonian animator, has made a film about a Chukchi fairy tale that confronts the misunderstandings of the Western audiences. He takes you on a journey to Chukotka, where deeper layers of the story start to unfold. It is an anthropological road movie, made in order to understand better the importance of storytelling in human life. The questions that arise during the journey, give the viewer a chance to reflect on their own life experiences and unconscious mind, in other words – undertake a journey into the depths of their own inner world.

Liivo Niglas

Liivo Niglas, born in 1970, is a film director and producer. He graduated as an ethnologist from Tartu University, where he currently teaches. He has made documentary films in Siberia, Africa, Central Asia and North America, and has won numerous awards.

Priit Tender

Priit Tender, born in 1971, is an Estonian animator. He has made both celluloid and puppet animation films that have won a number of awards at animation film festivals.
