Competition Programme  

Does the legend of a S. Darius’ and S. Girėnas’ transatlantic flight remain significant for a new generation of Lithuanians? What does their legend start with? What are the real reasons of the catastrophe? Based on diaries of the pilots, archival material, and conclusions of experts, the film tells about two men who lived in the 20th century, meaningfully spent their lives and became the heroes of the nation. It is about the immortal flight of two Americans of the Lithuanian origin rather than about their death.

Theatre and film actor, TV program creator. He took a number of distinct roles at Kaunas State Drama Theatre, acted in films, TV series. For a part in the film Whisper of Sin he was awarded with the Lithuanian National Film Award Silver Crane. Lituanica. The Mystery is his first feature documentary.
