The Way It Is

“In the courtyard of an old apartment house in Warsaw where I live, a former caretaker named Wiesio lives in a makeshift place in the doorway next to the garbage disposal. He has a dog named Froggie, a girlfriend named Ania, and a neighbour, Mr. Szymanski, who is a retired hairdresser. Wiesio receives a disability pension and makes ends meet by digging the neighbourhood disposals. The film shows one year in the life of Wiesio and those close to him. This is a story of loneliness, the longing for love, and time passing by in a world that disappears along with the protagonists of my films.” (Paweł Łoziński)
