The Real Sound of the Nation’s Rebirth 1989-1993

The inspiration to make this film was born from what could be imagined as a chronic runny nose, a film where the odours that had collected over 20 years had to be transformed into sounds and images. Sound is the essential element of the film, the anthropology of image, including songs, people, windows, street musicians and characters from the turbulent time. You’ll be able to almost smell the fashion of those days, all of the clothes, haircuts and shoes. This film is the result of the director’s wish to create an audio-visual whiff of independence. Some fought for freedom, while others sang Soviet songs that hearken back to better days. The colours of the flags changed, and so did life on the streets.
